The monthly fee, explained

The setup cost is clear: one amount for the notarial incorporation of your BV. What surprises many people is that a monthly fee keeps running after incorporation. Here we explain what it stands for.

What the fee covers

  • Running the digital shareholder register on the Nxchange infrastructure (AFM-regulated, which comes with a price tag)
  • Secure storage of your notarial files, which must legally be kept for at least 7 years
  • Keeping the register up to date when changes occur (we don't charge extra for regular updates)
  • Access to the platform for you and your fellow shareholders
  • Support, average response time one working day, faster on Pro

Why it isn't a subscription

A subscription is for services you actively use every month: Netflix, Spotify, your accounting package. Digital Notary's monthly fee works differently: it is the price of the legal infrastructure that keeps your BV running, even in a month where you do nothing.

Compare: you also pay the KvK registration fee, accountancy costs and bookkeeping software subscriptions for your BV. The Digital Notary fee is in the same category: fixed costs to keep the BV going legally and administratively.

Cancel any month

You're not locked in. The fee can be cancelled monthly. It does mean that if you cancel, your access to the digital register lapses and we have to transfer your file legally. That isn't a technical problem, but it is administration.
